Get ready for some wintertime fun on Saturday, December 2, for the 3rd annual Glühwein Gallop 5k Run/Walk! This event starts at 9:00 a.m., and the race starts and ends at the Carmel Christkindlmarkt. Race packet pickup will be Dec. 1, 3:00-7:00 p.m. at the Runners Forum in Carmel (620 Station Drive).

The Glühwein Gallop draws its name from the German word Glühwein (pronounced 'glue vine'), which translates to "glowing wine" in English. Glühwein is a delicious mulled wine that is served warm in different flavors. Glühwein and its special mugs are one of the biggest attractions each year at the Market.

NEW FOR 2023...we are excited to announce that mugs can be purchased for an additional $6 during event registration!
Awards will be offered for overall winner and age-groups. Additionally, there will be a costume contest for participants - and the wackier the costume, the better!

Participants (21+) can redeem the tear-off tag on their race bib for one complimentary serving of Glühwein or beer! This must be redeemed within the festival, immediately after finishing the 5k.

Be sure to have your photo ID with you!

Additional servings may be purchased separately.

Hot chocolate and other non-alcoholic drink options are also available.

This beautiful 5k course will start/finish at the Carmel Christkindlmarkt festival, traveling on the Monon Trail and past the shops along Main Street and Rangeline Road.

Once you finish, you'll be at the market, which opens at 12:00 p.m.

Costume Contest

Get into the holiday spirit and wear your most festive outfits! At the end of the event, awards will be given for our favorite costumes!

Participants are encouraged to go overboard, so put together the best costume you can!
